Joan Darflinger, Fine Artist, Acrylics and Oils

This semi retired, energetic and dedicated artist now resides at the waters edge of Koontz Lake Indiana. Joan sold her art studio/business after thirty plus years of teaching thousands of students at the Joan Darflinger School of Fine Art in St. Charles Illinois. She then moved to Indiana where she now lives at her lake house . Joan is now enjoying the next chapter in her life as she focuses on painting for pleasure, part time teaching and conducting painting retreats. Joan conducts her exciting painting retreats in her home which was once a fishing lodge. Every year or two she also conducts World Wide Artists' Adventures, which are plein air painting retreats , all over the world for fellow artists and non artists. Joan has conducted these painting retreats in Monet's garden, Giverny France, as well as many beautiful locations throughout Italy, Sicily, British West Indies, China, Switzerland, Germany, Hawaii and next on to Ireland.

Darflinger has also enjoyed being one of the few TV artists on PBS stations throughout the United States for many years. She was one of the first TV artists who presented the easy - how-to painting shows which aired every week into the homes of millions of viewers. Her characteristic style includes a wide variety of subject from portraiture, landscapes, still life, seascapes and murals. This prolific artist has created more than four thousand paintings during her career and still continues to enjoy painting and sharing her talents with clients and students everywhere.

Joan accepts commissions for original art work in all subjects and mediums as well as murals.
