Michael Prout : Watercolor Paintings and Pen and Ink Illustrations

Born September 23, 1970 at a Key West, FL Naval Hospital to Dennis and Ann Prout of North Liberty, Indiana. He was a blonde haired, blue eyed “Konk” while an infant there for a few months.

Moved back home as an infant and has been a resident of North Liberty and Walkerton, Indiana for almost 39 years.

Graduated with a 3.8 GPA from John Glenn H.S. in 1989.

June of 1991 he married his high school sweat heart.

Majored in Fine Arts, Illustration and Photography as well as Honors English, Math and Science.

Attended IVTC college to acquire an associates degree in Commercial Art.

He studied under well known artists like Ed Harding, Linda Freel and Julie Jankowski.

Graduated early but started a degree in Commercial Photography as well. He only attended for the first year before obtaining a job with a local Commercial Photography studio.

BKR Studio in South Bend hired Michael to build a graphic arts and multimedia department. After several years of developing print material, interactive brochures, multimedia presentations and kiosks for businesses and organizations throughout the Midwest, Michael moved on to a growing Internet Service Provider. BKR has grown to be a leader in Internet services and has one of the largest datacenters in South Bend.

CyberLink International hired Michael to lead them in Website Development. The commercial Internet was fairly new to everyone but this startup company began to grow and grow. Michael became their Creative Director and Senior Website Developer and the company grew from several hundred clients to several thousand. They are currently a leader in wireless Internet services throughout Indiana.

In 2003 Michael decided to build his own freelance business called Creekside Design to service graphic arts and website development needs to a select client source. He, along with his wife of 18 years, also built a large horse boarding and training facility in Walkerton, Indiana. He is also the creative behind his wife's Elkhart manufacturing and Corporate Embroidery business. Together they are building a future for their kids and helping the community along the way.

Michael and Tina Prout are the parents of two wonderful kids. Their son Sean is a football lineman for Urey Middle School as well as a Urey Wrestler. Their daughter Colleen is an excellent horseback rider and someday trainer. She follows her mother's uncanny ability to ride and train horses. Together they enjoy competing in western contesting as well as hunt seat and jumping. Colleen is also very artistic and someday might even learn to enjoy her father's creative passion.

Michael enjoys illustrating in pen and ink and has renewed a passion for painting in watercolor. His style is realism with a hint of impressionism. He has a passion for painting horses, western themes and portraiture. He is influenced by the horses his family cares for as well as a love for the old west. His creative journey has just begun…

Currently Michael enjoys time with his family, building his creative business and his wife's horse business, helping a few non-profits like Life Athletes, Inc., Reins of Life, Love Way, Inc., several area churches, and a new Romanian group called Seed of Hope Ministries. The grass only grows under his feet tall enough to make hay for the horses…
